House hunting...

Well, although we are not seriously house hunting, we are trying to get an idea of what is available, what type of home we would like, and what area of the metro we would like to settle in. I was browsing some listings this week and fell in love with a house near our church. From the outside it was just a pretty green, bungalow style home with a large front porch. For anyone who knows me...knows I really love porches!! What sold me was the beautiful interior that was full of character, charm, and beautiful wood work. I e-mailed the link to George and he loved it too. Today we were able to make an appointment with the agent and see it with our own eyes.

While I still think it is beautiful...as with many older homes with character, it has a few problems that made it easy to walk away, saying..."it's okay, we were just looking for fun". An old furnace and water heater, warped/bowing flooring from settling over the years, and a cheaply done kitchen remodel.

We suspect this house was "flipped", ie, someone did some cosmetic work, but there may be much more hidden under the surfaces of the new paint, kitchen, and bathroom remodeling.

None the less, it was a fun, first experience, as husband and wife, to go and explore a potential new home. We know the Lord will have something out there for us when we are a little more ready.

You're right. Some very beautiful, unique characteristics. Can't wait to come visit... whether it is in your apartment or your house!
